Trewen is a house with a wonderful history and a spectacular view. Factor in the spacious accommodation, formal gardens and the paddock then you really do have a quite special family home. The extensive views range from Anglesey and Puffin Island to the Great Orme and Llandudno with Trewen being ideally positioned to make the most of the stunning sunsets. Built in 1889 as part of the Tan y Foel (now Noddfa) Estate, Trewen has links to the Owen Owen family, renowned Liverpool retailers and later to Sir Elias Cemlyn-Jones, the liberal politician. Situated on the very edge of Snowdonia National Park with easy access to the mountains and sea, and the vast range of outdoor activities in North Wales which was recently named in 4th place of the Lonely Planet Top Ten Regions of the World. As you step through the solid oak front door the well preserved original features reveal themselves including; decorative tiled flooring, ornate coved ceilings, fireplaces and immaculate stained glass windows creating an array of colour in the living areas. On the ground floor there are two large reception rooms with superb views of Puffin Island to the Great Orme and with access to the patio from the Lounge. Also to the ground floor: porch, reception hall, kitchen/breakfast room with pantry, cloakroom with separate w.c., large utility/hobbies room and access to the basement. The pitch pine staircase leads from the reception hall to the first floor accommodation with five double bedrooms including master with ensuite bathroom, family bathroom with freestanding jacuzzi bath and separate w.c. The original servants quarters are separated at ground floor level creating additional accommodation with a range of possibilities for usage and includes kitchen, bathroom and lounge with secondary staircases leading to the first floor and basement. The first floor is open currently but could be easily partitioned with one or two of the bedrooms included. There are a range of possibilities with regards to the layout and use of Trewen the only limitation is the scope of your imagination! The grounds are a mixture of formal lawned gardens with mature double hedge boundaries, and mature woodland that gives Trewen an additional level of privacy. The paddock, extending to approximately two acres, frames the view and provides opportunities for livestock, especially horses/ponies with an area suitable for stables alongside. Trewen’s unique position, outstanding view, spacious and flexible accommodation and superb grounds make this a very special family home.
